Roger that and with the motor controllers we can turn the shafts
1 revolution per minute so they will almost never be spinning 2900 RPM, again

used o-rings for many years on slow turning shafts. The trick is to keep a
sharp eye out and have replacements ready. Vance -----Original Message----- Vance I am not sure if there was any problems with the unit as
built, when I disassembled the I found 2 that had leaked at one point and the
bearings where gone the other 3 seemed to be ok, I have replaced all the o
rings and new bearings, the shaft seals are just 2 o rings and the shaft seems
to be in good shape, maybe I will do a vacuum test before making the discussion
to go compensated we are shooting for the end of the week to splash it for the
first time, thanks for the info Brian V. Ryder CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE: This e-mail message, including any

On Behalf Of vbra676539@aol.com I got your vast knowledge bank, buddy. As to bellows, it depends on the configuration. Truthfully, if the
hard cans are in good shape, I'd replace the seals and O-rings and run them as
designed. The problem with big or biggish motors is turbulence. There will be a
lot of drag in there. The only solution is to cast the rotor in thin epoxy and
machine it to the windings. The question is why. If what you have works, why fix it? Hyco ran compensated motors
because they started out deep and worked backwards. But they started out with
wet designs and got them nearly bullet proof over the years. Perry, on the
other hand, built hard cans and ran their motors dry. They started shallow and
went deeper, so could expand on what they had. Is there a nasty history with those units you have? Vance -----Original Message----- Vance Thank you for the info, I was going to make a simple
bellow with that vinyl tubing, or that was my first thought then if there was a
leak I could see it in the tubing At least the sea water will not ruin the motor if its full of
oil or less chance of it, do you have any ideas for bellows in that vast
knowledge bank of yours, Thanks again Brian V. Ryder CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE: This e-mail message, including any

On Behalf Of vbra676539@aol.com What if you flood a thruster? Sea water will migrate to find the
lowest point(s). I'd do them separate. In my experience, that isolates problems
without causing any. Vance -----Original Message----- Brian, Together okay, but make the bellow not too small. Count for 5 to 10% volume chance.
