Robotics was first and foremost the interest of one of my fellow students
at the art academy who needed help to implement a remote control device
that was going to be run over the internet. We made that as part of a
touring millennium art exhibition back in 1999. I guess that is all I have
been involved in robotics, although I was rather deeply involved in it
during my research that year.

However, my brother in law is probably the man I would ask today - he used
to work with 'ABB Trallfa', where he was deeply involved in robotics for
the car industry. Actually, he now works with a research establishment in
Stavanger, but their robotics are to be deployed running future subsea
drilling rigs. Can you imagine, spud in a new oil well on the bottom of
the ocean somewhere, by means of an iPod or something.

Gee, why haven't I thought about him earlier in connection with subsea
robotics? I will contact him tomorrow, and ask for an invitation to see
for myself what they're really up to... If I get anything we can use, I'll
let you guys know it.

Regarding math: it fascinates me, but I am still trying to learn something
of it. Lucky you who know someone to ask (?)
