Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Nuytco sub observations

I'll dig it out and send a copy, if you like. We can talk some more about your design, if you think I can be of any help. You have the luxury of planning for ship-borne operations, which relieves the weight limitations substantially and allows for more of everything. I like some room, too, and need it more than I used to, unfortunately. Also, I like the big nose mounted window (Perry style) as it puts you inches away from things. The Deepworkers were fine, George's K-600 is okay, but all those types are designed for a seated operator, which I find very limiting and frustrating. Pete will have some ideas as well. He is not experienced with many vehicles, but is VERY experienced with his own. The Antibodes would probably have suited you guys beautifully. It has been sold, I understand. Too bad. Double check with him about that, though.

Okay thanks for=2 0the info it was both personal and business, I went to look at his K600 with the idea it would be good for me personally and to pick his brain of some valuable info and boy is there’s lots of  info in there, he did tell me I should contact you and gave me your contact info, his K600 is still in very nice shape but I like big things I am a big man, but if possible I would love to look at the K1000 drawing sometime,
thanks

If you are looking for something that size, then I'd say your visit with George Kittredge was more social than business. He thinks big and builds small, does Captain K. I do have the drawing for his K-1000, which is a 5' OD hull w/single pod stuck out the back and trim tanks for skids (gross weight 5200#, as I recall). He was never convinced that 2 people would be comfortable in there, but I always thought it would be perfectly viable. Still do, in fact.

Ah yes Willie Legrow spelling not correct I meet him thru Terry Dwyer and
willies backing partner I can't remember his name but he had a ship called
the lady Janet we looked at to buy but needed way more work then I was
prepared to do at the time just goes to show you it's a small world

On the sub note where might I start looking to buy a large hemispherical
view port about 54 inches trying to put together a realistic parts cost

Thanks, Brian . . .
I was aware of the drama over the past few years - the guy that was
'caretaking' used to work for me in Halifax - as a rig diver. He wasn't
exactly a 'Dudley Do-right' type - Bill Kenney claims he literally took
everything off the vessel except the sea-cocks!
I got tired of following it a couple of years ago when it looked like it

was going to be a protracted legal hassle - interesting to hear that it
finally ended. SDL is not the sort of sub th
at is in much demand these
days - with Katrina and Ivan over, the sat spreads are starting to pile up
in the boneyards again . . .ah, well - it was ever thus!
Surprised to see the E from Jonathan Newman - what is the submarine
dentist up to?
