Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] OT: Copyrights

Hi Carl,

No, your mail was not offensive. You are correct that the best way to proceed to get the book on line or at a group discount is to contact the author and publisher. Do we have a voluteer to do the contacting?

I recall the brouhaha when talk about putting "Manned Submersibles" online was first discussed. I didn't want to start that up again since this book is most probably Copyrighted.

While I would like free copies to the book as much as anyone else I had to clearly state PSUBS position in the matter. Sort of officially going on record as it were. To support this project PSUBS will need written permission from Dr. Stachiw and all concerned parties.

On a positive note. Discussion of the book prompted me to order my own copy. Thanks guys. At the 2003 Convention it was brought to my attention the book was coming back into print. Until this discussion I was unaware it was actually in print. I might share if the library details could be worked out.

Regards,
Ray
