Ooooohh . .  . I'm getting the heeby-geebies.

In all the research I've done, there's one constant theme: keep the pressure hull penetrations to a
minimum.  Some subs even have optically controlled motors, arms, etc.  Light is projected from inside
the pressure hull's viewing port to a receiver external to the hull.  There are no physical control
penetrators.  When there is a penetration, it's usually through a single "bus" or manifold of sorts.
