True.  Crack open a ball valve and you're on your way.  Admit air to an ambient tank, however, and you
should be prepared for an uncontrolled ascent.

My stand is to drop hard ballast a bit at a time to achieve a predictable, controlled and consistent
ascent.

For a cheap thrill, wear a dry suit and drop all your lead from 80 feet.  Uh-huh.  Never again.
