I don't have a lathe and don't plan to get one; more interested in finding a really good machine shop that I can trust.

Your motor shaft looks to have some etching problems where the seal was. How deep? Unfortunately, that's a common problem for ceramic rotating seals. Sea water stays in the outer O-ring face and works away in what becomes the classic low oxygen trap. You might need some repair work there before reassembly.
