Jim, The motor housings are 1ATM and certainly strong enough for that purpose. However, as Dan mentioned, I do recall reading someplace that there were some leaking issues. I don't remember if I read that in George's book or in some documentation I have. The K600 calls for a Crane-8B3 mechanical seal whereas the K-350 calls for a US Seal PS-309 mechanical seal. Frankly I'm not sure how the Crane makes a good seal since it has no spring loading to keep it snug against it's counterpart in the tank head.
