[PSUBS-MAILIST] product flaw notification

To all:

A version of the broadband voice transmitter has been discovered to have been produced with other than stainless steel mounting bolts.
This version makes use of a stainless steel dog dish as the primary molding plastic enclosure and this dish if used in salt water applications could also be subject to oxidation being of lower grade stainless steel.
Dean Ackman and others operating in the Great Lakes region were the primary recipients of this version of transmitter.
A primer or other protective covering is recommended for use on these bolts to prevent corrosion after prolonged use.
New units use PVC plastic enclosures and are thus no longer susceptible to this corrosion problem as no mounting bolts are even used in their mounting.
