   Soon I will put aside all things sonar and concentrate on my hull also...time flies by faster than we wish to think about and we are not getting any younger...good luck!

David, I'll probably make it after I get my hull made.
It seems to suite my need. It won't cause much drag, & It will only be needed  for making sure
I don't rise in the path of a boat or for gaining orientation. I like Jons web cam idea.
Looking at my web cam, I could suspend it inside a tennis ball & pour crystal clear casting
resin round it; should be pressure resistant enough.
While thinking on it further it might be better to put a solid rod inside a pipe instead of a
pipe in a pipe. you could then add an O ring if necessary.
