Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] sub/shark video

Rick - we have six gill sharks here. You can see them around Hornby Island on night dives when they venture to shallower depths.

If I can make it down there in 2010 I'll look forward to sharks. My last adventure in Fla. in 1978 I saw zero. Strange - maybe it's because of having read shark stories when I was a kid, but I have no problem with them at all u/w. Possible exception of Whites and Bulls, maybe a couple of others. But put me floating in the ocean without dive gear and I get really nervous. We get Dogfish up here, the occasional Great White or Blue. Would love to see some from a Psub. Rick

Hi Rick. Florida is the "shark bite capital of the world"
I once saw an aerial photo of the beach in New Smyrna and there
were hundreds of sharks within 100 feet of shore. This is right
where they have the surfing competitions.
I saw another shot of a shark in a breaking wave with a young
couple standing waist deep in the water just behind the shark.
They were oblivious to the shark's presence. Ya, we'll see sharks.
