Has any one ever heard of the special correcting lens
talked about below, to deal with the Snell's effect in a dome. Also I
thought it makes things you look at larger, not smaller. Some times Karl
will have people come and look thru Idabel's flat CT windows, to better see the
size of the sixs.
" The curve of the acrylic reduces the
apparent size of what you see by about 20% to
compensate, you can look through the six
flat viewing ports in the conning tower or
through a special handheld lens designed
to correct the illusion."
Also notice the much larger drop weight then we normally see on smaller subs. "Drop weight Tray with Lead 916 lbs
(412kg) "

Antipodes/XPC15/PC-1501 Cody, If
you watch a K-350 on the surface, you will note that there isn?t a whole
lot of reserve buoyancy (especially after all of the other contraptions are
added that we want to enhance our subs with J).
If built as designed, the ballast tanks are open on the bottom and subject to
burp some air if heeled at all. You will find that you can?t really stand
to one side as there is no real deck. R/Jay Resepectfully, Jay K.

McMillan Sorry mis
understood what was going on here. THere shouldnt be any need to compensate for
the open weight of the hatch. since you should have a more than enough reserve
bouyancy when surfaced, with your ballest tanks empty, that the weight of a
hatch would cause a list. even if it did it wouldnt be any more than a guy like
me (230lbs) would cause stepping to far to one side ;) |
