Thought this may interest some list members. The 2009 MATE (Marine Advanced Technology Education) competition is on June 24 ? 26, 2009 at Massachusetts Maritime Academy Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. This is an international contest where students build there own ROV and tooling and then compete achieving various mission objectives. This years theme is ROVs: The Next Generation of Submarine Rescue Vehicles. Info is here: http://www.marinetech.org/rov_competition/2009/index.php. The NE regional is at the same location April 26th.
