I agree totally with Andy.I don't want to beat up on, or discredit Dave anymore than he already has done to himself, except to say that there is absolutely no reason to be discourteous, rude, offensive, antisocial or destructively critical in this forum. If someone contacts someone outside this forum and they have ill words between them, that is different, but this forum should be sacrosanct. We should all be here as friends and comrades and do our very best to help each other in whatever way we can. I am nowhere near as knowledgable as many of the experts here. I make mistakes. But I try to help anyone I can andhope they will do the same for me. I could not expect help and courtesy from the comrades here toward me if I am discourteous to them. I think understanding is more important than criticism. If we think something is a bad idearather then being rudely critical, perhaps we should ask more questions to make sure we totally understand something before we criticize it. We might find out that we were wrong. It would be better to be wrong and have simply asked questionswithout being rudely critical, than to be wrong after being rude and have egg on our face. I have learned this from getting egg on my face a few times. Eating crow is not something I enjoy. After living 51 years on this planet I have learned thatyou can't go wrong by being courteous and nice. Sometimes I slip, but then I apologize and try not to slip again. Perhaps some apologies are in order regarding this thread as well Dave. The thing to remember here is that we all are members of an elite group whether each member owns a sub or not. We are like a family of sorts. Like a military platoon that has to work together. Like a boy scout troop wherein each membertries to help the others. Dad used to always tell me that you can get more bees with honey than with vinegar. We should not need a moderator to keep us in line. We should simply use common sense and courtesy to one another. If a member cannot do that I believe the forum itself will ostracize them and they will find they have no friends or help from here. We have seen that process already with the responses to this thread. The bottom line is.....Do and SPEAK unto others as you would have them do unto you. As Andy said, please members, do not leave because of momentary lapses in courtesy. They are definately not the norm here.Sorry Andy, it looks like I was even longer winded. But then I am known for that. Lol.Kindest regards,Bill Akins.----- Original Message -----From: drewacard@charter.netSent: Thursday, June 02, 2005 10:21 AMSubject: Re: RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] WOW!!! But the fact that so many people spoke up for Herve before he even had a chance to reply speaks loads for this community.
Over the course of the time I have been lurking on this site there have been many people that are trolls or uninformed and have made bad to very bad statements. But introducing a moderator puts a great burden on one or 2 people. And reduces the chance of conversation on history or cutting edge advancements and Darwin contributors.
To me this a community of scientists ranging from historians to engineers to explores. With one dream, one goal. To promote and encourage the discussion, design, construction, certification, ownership and use of Personal Submersibles.
So Hugo, Herve
Please don?t leave because of one bad egg. One ill email.
Sorry for being so long winded.
Thank you for your time.

Wow!
It is a shame that this has escalated to this point. Perhaps the comments
need to be moderated to weed out irrelevant and disrespectful material from
this site? What happened to respect and courtesy? I am begining to
question my involvement in this site.....
respectfully,
Hugo

Mr Dave... who?
Whatever you say is totally irrelevant, you have not built anything, you
never
will, you undoubtedly have no clue on how to create and run a successful
business, most of all you obviously dont know what you are talking about,
unlike the long time members of this list you lack the positive attitude and
the basic qualities to elevate yourself and try to acheive something .
As far as safety, whilst my subs are being certified by Bureau Veritas and
ISO
9000 certification, what credentials do you hold to declare my subs unsafe?
Their comments are far more productive than your bitter criticisms.
Last but not least, being succesful is not about marketing or making a
pressure
hull, it is about learning experiences from others, having a vision with a
drive and having the guts to stick to it.

WOW,,,what a cool idea. Some one has finally figured out how to give a hole
bunch of people the bends all at one time. Geee...they can even take
Grandma
and the kids along. This wonderful exomos site has once again demonstrated
that
marketing is all it takes to sell any thing. I'm going to start selling
wings
that strap onto motor homes with Velcro, quick and easy installation,,,takes
just 15 minuets and you'll be on your way to glideing through the Grand
Cannon.
But before I do that I'll need some marketing capital.....so if any one is
interested...I have swamp land down here in Florida that will be
worth.....Is
this a negative attitude...hell yes it is....this is truly one of the
stupidest
things I've ever seen and it scares me that there are people that actually
look
at this exomos thing as a SUBMARINE....
IT"S NOT A SUBMARINE....it's an ambient goof machine on a grand level...this
guy
needs to get the balls and build a pressure vessel,,, hell,, he's in Dubai
any
way and could never be implicated in a law suit ........Dave Banks
