I understand the feeling, but most sub operators won't even allow single passenger subs. The big operators have too much responsibility to put all their eggs in one basket. They firmly believe that if someone is incapacitate for any reason (the pilot, for instance) then even a rank amateur can be coached to get the sub back to the surface safely.
 
Build a two-man sub and dive it by yourself, maybe. She's only ballast, after all.
