Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Check Lists

David,

Indeed, the maintenance manual and schedule, a critical part of the
list!!!

But, every pilot has "list in hand" and visually checking item-by-item,
"by list",
as the inspection is being carried out...nothing taken for granted?

Another question: "nav lights". Should nav lights be on a pSub like
other
watercraft and as they are on aircraft. At least a flasher or rotating
beacon
topsides or on c-tower to warn other craft that a sub is surfacing and
has
surfaced? Any audio warning or alerts? [ I have a feeling this has been
discussed before? ].

As for the performance calcs, I'm working hard on it. I've been in
contact with
Prof. Siva Thangam and he has also referred me to Prof. Thomas Herrington
[ also faculty of Stevens Institute ] to help me. Also, another project
I started
last year, an FEA tutorial/primer. Kind of an FEA for Dummies [ I include
myself ]
I had briefly corresponded with Prof. CTF Ross about his texts and papers
on
this subject last year.

For now, I really am over my head in legal/court issues in
estate/probate, so this
has slowed me down considerably. Add the IRS in the mix and I will be
welcoming
the guys in the white coats with straitjackets very soon! I can't give
you a definitive
time frame of completion, but I am determined to complete these projects!

Thanks for asking, --Steve
