Fly deep, what about you sub idea?  From what I see so far, you aren't 
allthat aware of what to do when your sub is un-resurfacable.  IOW 
you're on the bottom and the only way out is through the hatch...into 
the deep blue sea...and hopefully NOT into the tummy of a big fish.  How 
do you plan on doing that without a scuttle valve?  Open the hatch?  do 
you even comprehend the pressure you're pushing against at a mere 50'? 
  20'?  Way more than you can fight.  Unless your hatch opens inwards, 
which alone is unsafe because of the very pressures we're talking about. 
   So your hatch will have to open outwards, and you're gonna need a 
scuttle valve.  Such is life, dude.
