Are you familiar with "silicon sensing systems" or "MEMS-based gyros "?

They are used in things like model rockets, ROVs and AUVs, auto vehicle
stability control, marine autopilots....etc.

"CRS03"
"ICG180 Gyro"
"ICG400"

are a few examples and the costs start around $100US.

I'm sure you can find a source in Germany ( Siemens might
have their own design perhaps? ).

I have a data sheet for the CRS03. I could zip it to you?
