Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Fresh water sub tourism

You probbably want to make sure you have good depth, so you're not hitting bottom ever. Can you scuba the site? Now adays you can use scuba up to 300 or more feet with various mixed-gas diving (heliox and such) How big is the lake? and of coure insurance...

You'll also need to find out if the lake is radioactive or not?

As well you will need special permission to operate in the lake I would imagine.

Let me know of how this progresses. We're all eager to find out!

I guess the key to fresh water sub tourism is wrecks.
I am looking at Lake Mead in Nevada. This is the
largest man made lake in North America. It is full of
wrecks. And it is 20 minutes from Las Vegas so the
tourist traffic is there to pull from. There is even a
B-29 that went down in the 40s and is still intact.
I would still love to here from anyone who dove on the
Auguste Piccard or knows anything about the tours it
dove.
