Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] psubs club sub

You wrote > do each of us have to pay $150 for the same
information?< Yup, you do . . . any other course is theft. Think of it as
software . . . each user agrees to pay for the use and not to resell or to
transfer to a third party by any means for for any purpose, without the
express permission of the owner. That's why we have copyrights and patents
in this country. This specific subject has been thoroughly explored in a
previous thread - when some-one decided it was cool to stiff Captain
Kitteridge by simply copying his plans and passing them around.
If you are really into freeware, why don't you pay some-one to do
the engineering of a design based on your experience,( or do the
engineering yourself) - then pay an A-cad technician to draft up a set of
fabrication drawings,( or draw them yourself) - pay a technical writer to
draft the fabrication instructions, ( or write it yourself,) ditto for
testing procedures, ops manual, maintenance manual. emergency procedures,
etc., etc., You could probably bring this whole package in for as little
as fifty grand if you did a lot of the work yourself. Then give it away to
who-ever wants it. No?? well then, sell the damn info: if
there are a hundred P-subbers, that's only $500 each!! ( with no profit to
you, but, what the hell!! ) Wait a minute . . .what's to stop the first guy
from making copies of the stuff and giving them away to his friends . .so
you get back $500 for a fifty grand investment. Naw, they wouldn't do that
'cause it wouldn't be right, and it wouldn't be fair, it wouldn't be legal,
(since you would have copyrighted the info) it wouldn't be Christian, and
it would be damn-well un-American!!
A bit over the top, but you get the point . There are some capable
people on this forum . .sure, get several of them to write on their
specialties and share it with the others. That's the reason that many
joined this group, I presume. But don't rip off some poor twit who is just
trying to make a living in his chosen field. . .
