Re: acrylic; motors
On the motor thing... I know a fellow here in Shreveport, LA (Randy
Lamb) that works for a hydraulic company (Weston Company) that sells rubber
bladders in numerous shapes and sizes that collapse under pressure to
compensate things like motors for pumps. They have clients that submerges
large motors and pumps in the Gulf. They use the larger ones for
compensation. They also have small ones. You would need to identify the
depth that you need to go to, and then the volume of the trolling motor's
air space. The rest is easy math to see what size you need.
Of course when you do deeper the bladder will collapse somwhat causing
a small amount of negative bouyancy. This is one reason that you should
not get too large of a bladder, but only what you need. I do not have his
telephone number handy but you can find it easily. If you call Randy, tell
him you know me and he will instantly know what he is dealing with. :-)
