I collect plans.   I have several sets of plans for boats but I will
never build
any of them; if I give a copy of these plans to someone who's going to 
build the boat, has the designer lost anything?

This was discussed years ago on another mailing list.   We never came
to any real conclusion except to agree to build ONE boat from ONE set
of plans.
