Hi, Vance -

We haven't "spoken" before. It's nice to have you on the list. Between you and Phil
I think we can reconstruct the library at Alexandria !!!

Regarding the VBT's, my own idea, which can be easily adapted to a one-at boat, is to
use the cockpit itself as the VBT.

Pardon? I'll be using the ambient dry c.pit to admit seawater as ballast. The c.pit
would be kept at ambient by regs. How this could apply in a one-at sub would be to
keep a VBT (external) at ambient, again using regs. Obviously, both the ambient c.pit
(in my boat) and the VBT (in the one-at boat) would have to be sealed off from the
outside with floods and vents to foil Mr. Boyle.

Flooding and venting would follow standard practise. Open the flood, open the vent
(flooding); open the flood and open the LP valve into the VBT to force water out
(venting).

Phil's using a similar system in Deep Worker. He's using the pilot's seat as a VBT.
Smart guy. Must have been reading my posts.

Rick
