Metric system?

Hi folks,
Some believe that the wold converting to the metric system would greatly
simplify our measurements and calculations.  They're probably right!

However, look what would happen to our old cliches....

* A miss is as good as 1.6 kilometers.
* Put your best 0.3 of a meter forward.  (I know... it's supposed to be
anatomy!)
* Spare the 5.03 meters and spoil the child.
* Twenty-eight grams of prevention is worth 453 grams of cure.
* Give a man (or woman) 2.5 centimeters, and (s)he'll take 1.6 kilometers.
And the best of all....
* Peter Piper picked 8.8 liters of pickled peppers.
