RE: AUV Scope

Regarding the 'ammended scope', I think the new wording now includes
hobbyist radio controlled subs.... i.e. "unmanned subs".

This may be including more than I think you really want to. I personally
have an R/C sub and am a member of the SubCommittee. Knowing that group
as I do I think it would be my guess that it is in the best interests of
PSUBS to not cross over into the R/C hobby world, as I would think the
PSUB people would want to maintain a more "professional"
appearance...???

Yet, on the other hand, there may eventually be a professional
application for R/C submarines that we would want to include. If memory
serves, there is indeed such an animal used in Florida at various
marinas that travels around under radio control to look for any
smuggling activities. I would think such professional applications can
be served by the PSUBS group.

Comments?
