Good-day everyone!
I try to keep my mouth shut on this list-serve for fear of choking on my Adidas but, alas, here are a few questions:
1) My "newest" design has both ambient and 1 atm designed into it. Are there any other members that have (successfully) done this?
2) How does acrylic compare to steel? For example, if you were to use an acrylic pipe for the sail portion of the sub. How much thicker would the (unreinforced) acrylic have to be?
3) Which composite is the most successful for the hull of an ambient pressure sub?
4) Does anyone have any idea how batteries will react to subsurface pressure? If you were to send one down in an ambient pressure pod, how far would it go before implosion?
Thanks for any help that anyone can give. I would be happy to provide any details to anyone that would like to pick apart my design. I would rather it be done by you than the ocean...
