One other thought James.  By using the drawing you are dealing with flat 
surfaces.  The conning tower having a curved surface is going to push 
that bracket inwards more than what is shown by viewing it against the 
2-dimensional plans.  Not sure if its going to push it out enough, but 
it won't be as far to the right as shown in your photo.
