I have this one:

"Introduction to Naval Architecture"
by Gillmer, Thomas C. and Johnson, Bruce
Naval Institute Press (1982)
ISBN 0-87021-318-0
324 pages

As the above book covers several interesting aspects of submarine design,
I would not hesitate to buy the "Modern Ship Design", also.

However, do we buy the first or the second edition of "Modern Ship Design"?
