That's the right stuff but I would still run a test piece, just to see what works. You might even consider making a full size mock-up with cheap materials and doing the application etc. to see what kinds of procedures work and what problems pop up.
For the plexi disks you could use hard foam blanks as cheap stand-ins and maybe a wooden "window frame assembly" or something thin enough to form to the shape. Maybe Masonite  and plywood ?
Pookie is notorious for making a mess and running through a couple "test runs" could present some insight on how best to get the results you want.
