I like that 'something about "being" there'! It's a very valid point that
should have been included in my own line of thoughts.

So maybe I can live with nothing but a pair of small, 'triesteous'
portholes after all. Having one installed on either side of the pressure
hull.

This way the bow section could be better used housing the sonar system(s),
something which would be of much greater help in underwater orientation,
compared to a shallow panoramic view into murky water, especially when
cruising at higher speeds.
