  Hydrophones

  Jim,        Lets ask Jens
Laland! He seems to know this kind of stuff. I had a BQS-04 on my
boat. Something to make note of...      BQS-* usually
indicates "send".. that's what the "s" designates.
BQR-* usually designates "receive of listen" that's what the "r"
designates.      The BQR-2 system was the system prior to
the BQR-21 which my sub was equipped with and may be a stave (a stack of one
or more passive hydrophones arranged in a single row.) In other words it may
not be designed for active transmissions at all. You have a gem there so be
sure what it was designed for before damaging it.
  Jens, help us out
  here...
