[PSUBS-MAILIST] Undersea Voyager Project

Hello,

I encourage everyone to visit the PSUBS News and Events web link and click on "Latest News". Scott Cassell, CEO and Founder of Undersea Voyager Project sent out a flyer on his latest project, and his next one, which is interesting reading. There is also a photo of his modified K-250 submersible called "Great White".

Only 18 months ago, Scott was sitting in a crammed dorm room with about 15 other psubbers during a "rum-tasting" seminar at the 2008 PSUBS convention in Castine Maine. As those of you who were there that night "critiquing" various varieties of rum will recall, his idea for UVP was essentially nothing more than a dream. He had no corporate sponsors, no submarine, and no funds. He came to the PSUBS convention in Maine, from California, for inspiration, educating himself, and making connections. One of the connections he made at the convention was with Bill Kohnen from MTSMUV and Seamagine, and you will see in his flyers that it became an excellent connection.

Scott's latest informational flyer comes just on the heels of my appeal a couple days ago for the PSUBS community to become more active in promoting science, exploration, and education. In that vein, it is an excellent example of what people can achieve when they believe in both themselves and their dream genuinely and totally.

Furthering scientific research and exploration is not for everyone, and there's nothing wrong with just wanting to use your sub for your personal recreational purposes. For those of you who are interested in submarines for more than just the satisfaction of fabricating one, or more than just using it for recreational purposes, Scott's story should be inspirational.
