Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Ambient running on nitrox

Talked to the dangerous goods expert re fires & high nitrox mixes & alas they will lower the flash point of materials
& cause fires to burn 2 to 4x their normal size. Thats at 1atm; everything is exaserbated by the increased pressure & hence concentration
of O2. He talked about pvc coated wires combusting under pressure & heat.
Frank, we had one of the directors of IVC (sports sub) addresss the issue of a visit . I'll paste his comment below.

So I guess I should mention sooner rather than later that I'm a principle at IVC and follow this group religiously.

Though we had hoped to participate, we have a few issues. First, we sell and build, rather than lease or rent our subs, so once a sub is complete it doesn't stay around long. There is always a customer somewhere waiting to get their sub yesterday. But depending on where we are in a build cycle we might have something to show. We won't know until closer to the convention. Also, we have a conflict that weekend as we are scheduled to be out of town. We are working at changing that....I want to dive Phil's subs as much as the rest of you! Again we won't know if we are in town or not until closer to the convention.

Thanks for thinking of us.

The "Sport Subs" built in Vancouver are ambient. If we take a trip over and visit, they could probably answer some of your questions. I'd sure like to see the shop and maybe they'd even have one being built so we could compare and learn some new stuff. Anybody open to going over during the convention? They may even have a representative at the convention if they're not too busy. Frank D.
