RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Co2 Scrubbing
I just had a Sodasorb manual sent by Alan and that is putting the aborption
at 150 litres / kg.
There is all the info I need in that other than what is the best practical
solution.
They say that the length to diameter ratio should be minimum 1.5:1. Also
wall effects are not good.
Thks Alan. Hugh

Hi Hugh
I believe sodasorb v sofnalime is merely marketing name. They are both
products based upon soda-lime and should have similar characteristics.
Efficiency is going to depend upon many factors unrelated to the
physical qualities of the absorbant, including how it is packed, air
flow (radial vs longitudinal), size of granules, and air velocity. You
don't want the air to move too fast or the latency time will be too
short. Also, you'd be better off using a CO2 sensor than watching for
color change to determine when absorbant capacity is exhausted.
