RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Urethane Coatings on Steel Ballest & Drop Weights

I know a guy that knows a guy. I'll make some calls.  ;}

There is a Rhino liner installer in Everett, Washington I've talked to at length a number of times, that have a mobile service that go spray boat hulls, boat decks, among other things. This gentleman also gave me some samples for a basic flamibility test I did a long time ago.  Oh and by the way Rhino will burn once it gets hot enough, and it will keep it self going after that point. So in other words don't spray it on your submarines exhaust, or in the engine room if you have one.

Here is clip I took some time back with my old video camera.

Just a note of caution regarding the urethane coatings (Rhino lining) - the online documentation for the Rhino truck bed liner indicates that it is not suitable for submerged service. In addition to the readily available truck bed liner, Rhino offers a series of industrial coatings which are similar, but have a greater surface hardness and presumaby better tolerance to submergence.  I'm not sure how to source these products, but in any case it's probably worth a phone call to the product manufacturer to see if the urethane product you are considering is suitable to your application.
