My sub has the same set-up on thrusters. The rear two thrusters are
left/right and the side thrusters are rotated up/down. Naturally, all the motors
are reversible.
I've often considered making the rear thrusters up/down too, or maybe
adding dive planes to the rear. It seems that should make it easy to change the
dive angle some what. A little more complex, with added thru-hulls, pivot
linkages, etc. But I wonder how much added maneuverability I'd get.
Something to consider as an add-on at a later date. Frank
