Sorry, I'd forgotten. My apologies. It isn't something someone should forget. Besides, I've been to Amsterdam (if you count changing flights at the airport, that is. Are the main ballast tanks grp? The stern fairing?

Vance… I live in the Netherlands. I know it is hard to find on the map so say I live 40 Kms north of Amsterdam ;-)
 
But right, the Kreideseesub is half German. Carsten does designwork and the main ballasttanks from Bremen. A friend from Berlin makes the mould for the stern fairing

5C? I'd forgotten how cold it gets. We spent a lot of time at the shipyards in Bremerhaven years ago, but the Scotch Bar was just across the street and there were always pretty university girls to argue politics with. Not too fond of Americans, as I recall. That was hard to figure out as several of them told me that with their head on my pillow! Great times in Germany, great times.

I will keep checking the picture site for updates. I should have asked originally about hull dimensions. It looks small, but is hard to figure how small.

5C! I have to check for coats in my closet.

The hull is constructed right at this moment!.  I  build and a professional welder does the welding. Great team!!
I started last week and with a few days the heavy steel work20is done.  The picture site will be updated soon.
 
We have to preheat thick steel here cos it is les than 5 C. inside..
 
Front viewport is 580 mm O.D @ 135 Deg.

Hello from Florida. The weather here was 25C yesterday, but with a lot of wind. Not a good day for small submarines offshore, I'm afraid, so I have been writing about my version of the Kreideseesub. In my book, it is May and the sub is working on the seabed north of Iceland. And the weather is very nice, but cold. No one gets seasick in my book unless I say so!!!

I see the Kreideseesub hull com ponents are built. How is the fabrication going? I am anxious to see the interior layout. What diameter is the forward viewport?

The plan of my earlier mentioned project “Drebbel” chanced a little.
The owner of the divebase at lake Hemmoor wanted to have a sub.
Specs are pretty close to my earlier plans so Carsten and I made a agreement with him. We design and produce parts and the sub will be sold as a building kit.
