Tanks
Jim,
More important then the percentage of your
total subs weight is the weight they will allow to be pushed out of the
water. Take the weight of the water your tanks will hold and figure
how much of the sub will be lifted out to see how much free board you'll
have.

Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Soft
Tanks
Hi All Psubbers,
I have completed preliminary design of my
soft tanks and am looking for input. They will be shoulder tanks tapered
from the sides and ends at 2-3 degrees to minimize the chance of bubble
entrapment. As they are now the will support about 12 % of my subs total
weight.
The bottoms will be mostly closed with rows
of 4 inch diameter holes to minimize burping in rough water.
Does anyone have a guideline on this area as
to what percentage is good etc.
Best Regards,
Jim
