Emile your SS overpressure valve you have a picture of on your site is very interesting. Do you have any more pictures of it when taken apart? I would like to see the seal on it if you don't mind. It looks like a larger metal version of the valve I found on my friends inflatable pontoon boat. I was thinking of an idea for making a piston vent valve for my MBT's a couple of days ago and when I got to my friends place that same day I found this valve that worked much like I was thinking, except the valve would seal in reverse of what it does, just like Vance's mushroom valves. Here are some pictures of that valve on the pontoon boat. http://cid-5085d10eb6afe47c.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/Inflatable%20Pontoon%20Spring%20Piston%20Valve That valves patent number is 4478587 and you can see it's details and drawings here. http://www.google.com/patents?id=if05AAAAEBAJ&pg=PA2&source=gbs_selected_pages&cad=1_1#PPA1,M1 I found this valve for inflatable boats which I think show a number of the basic details Vance described for his mushroom vents. It is patent number 4927397 and you can see it's details and drawings here. http://www.google.com/patents?id=13gnAAAAEBAJ&pg=PA2&dq=4478587&source=gbs_selected_pages&cad=1_1#PPA2,M1 One more for comparison. http://www.google.com/patents?id=PaEJAAAAEBAJ&pg=PA3&dq=4478587&source=gbs_selected_pages&cad=1_1#PPA1,M1 Regards, Szybowski From: emile@airesearch.nl To: personal_submersibles@psubs.org Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Drebbel to Kreideseesub Date: Fri, 12 Dec 2008 13:26:49 +0100 Hi,
The plan of my earlier mentioned project “Drebbel” chanced a little. The owner of the divebase at lake Hemmoor wanted to have a sub. Specs are pretty close to my earlier plans so Carsten and I made a agreement with him. We design and produce parts and the sub will be sold as a building kit. http://www.airesearch.nl/index_bestanden/Page424.htm click on “kreidesseesub” I hope to inspire people with the picture log! We hope to launch in summer 2009.
Best regards, Emile van Essen
