If a flooding or sinking is about to happen, I'll open the rear dog. The
pressure will keep the hatch closed. Then, on scuba, release the air
bubble in the hatch, open the last two dogs, and raise the hatch. I'm looking at
the 30 cu.ft. tanks. The dimensions are 4 inch by 21 inch, and will be easy to
exit through the hatch with.
With the rear dog open, a rescue diver can pull the hinge pin, and lift the
hatch off from the back. I have tried it ( Don't have the hinge pin brackets
made yet) and it works. Just pull up on the hatch and slide it back about
an inch, and it clears the hole.
This is of course without a spring attached. Not sure how to overcome that
one. Still refining the whole hatch spring concept. Frank
