RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Hydrodynamic Hatch Viewport Arrangement

Frank,  I would enjoy doing a CAD model of your sub and then render it. I expect I would learn allot in the doing. The model of your hatch was just guess work, so if you give me real measurements to work from, we can even do interference testing when animating the movable parts. Also now that I have the full Cosmos Works stress analysis add on for Solidworks, I could learn to use it and do full stress analysis of you whole sub in a completed assembly state, to get a much closer idea of where your weakest points are. Perhaps Cliff could help use to make sure we have configured the stress analysis parameters properly, since it can be a pretty involved program. We can even change the temperature of the parts and/or assemblies to see how the effects the strength of the sub.

If your making your front and rear fairings out of FRP, then perhaps I could be of help producing section drawing views to produce the mold plug off of. I've been hoping to try out my ideas for producing mold plugs much like a cedar strip canoe is made.

As for trade, perhaps I could come down some time and increase my welding skills, with instruction from you.

That computer work is really outstanding. Thanks Brent. I wish the hatch looked that good. Maybe you'd be willing to do a picture of the finished sub if I gave you some better pictures more to scale than the cartoons I do on my computer. I bet we could work out a mutually agreeable trade for the work. Frank D.
