Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Minn-Kota Thrusters -- Was: teathers

Hi again Doug,

I was talking with the people at trollingmotorparts.com, I think I talked with Jim, a very knowledgable and helpful person about controllers. They have many different controllers available. I am still undecided about what I will do, but am leaning toward three separate controllers mounted to my stick or very close to it. While I like the idea of syncronizing them I feel that there will be times that asymetrical thrust will be usefull.

If you come up with something clean let me know, because I can clearly see the advantages to both ways.

Best Regards,

Jim

I'm glad to hear that.  I have two of them on my work table now and I am waiting for a new dual pot that I hope I will be able to use in order to sync them together.   The dual pots I got off ebay from a guy in Arkansas are total POS.  Never trust those Hillbillies. :)

If this dual pot approach does not work
I will need a new idea about how sync the speed of two thrusters.  You aren't by chance going to sync them to one controller are you?   Any ideas on it?

Thanks

Hi Doug,

I just wanted to say thanks! Back in August 07 you reccommended trollingmotorparts.com as a source for thrusters and other minn-kota things. I have purchased my first thruster for fit up and a couple of other items and found them to be exceptionally helpful.

Best Regards,
