Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Propane Tank Submarines, Racing in a Hay Field ; )'

How do you get your hourses to quit spitting out there snorkels.  I'm going to have to get some elephants.

One thing I found interesting about the Abyss, was that if they have equalized the pressure at depth, so they can enter the subs in the moon pool. Then all the componates inside the sub would need to be able to handle that massive pressure.  Also once they close the hatch and leave, if they wanted to assend even a short distance they would need to bleed off internal pressure or have the sub designed to handle hyperbaric pressure.

I know it's just a movie, but it's interesting to think about. I learned a thing or two from that movie, CPR was one of them. ; )'  The other was not to marry a sub designer.

Horses with snorkels? As a side note, I was an Aquarius pilot for a couple of seasons, and even though I loved The Abyss, I'm here to tell you that she wouldn't roll over, and she doesn't have a lock-out, and there aren't ANY lines or valves inside that could break and cause her to flood!!! Well Vance, did you cringe when you were watching the subs in the movie Abyss playing touch tag? If so, these tanks of mine also have a interesting story to tell in there scrapes.  It was a wild ride I'll never forget.  Did you know that horses can move submarines quite well and fast too?

For the light hearted side of subs.  Here I present to you all, a picture of my two grand submarines doing what they do best.  Moving fast over land.  If you are, or wish to be in a goofy mood look at my pic.

And number 4 has it by a nose.
