Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] sketchup software, how many of you use it?

I have never geard of it but rest for sure I will give it a try.
Personally I use autocad in 2D and import them to INVENTOR or ANSYS.
Of course you can draw 2D in both those program too. Inventor is ok
easy to learn the basic stuff. ANSYS both drawing and calculation
program for nonlinear structures. One can easily find all stresses in,
lets say, a hatch or window seat in a sub at a sertain depth.

I love the SketchUp style of interface, but I probably have some odd mental
quirks and had trouble drawing machinery-type objects with SketchUp. It
seems like other people make do just fine though. My amateur opinion is
that it's really optimized for architecture.

I've used MoI a little and it strikes me as a similar, intuitive interface
but better suited for general 3D drawing of complex shapes.
