Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] New Comers and Sub-Wanna-Bees
I concur. Nicely put.
As the "Landlord", I have a few house rules:
1. No offensive language. We got Grade and High
Schoolers that visit the site so keep your language
PG-13 or nicer. Actually they are my excuse. The real
reason is that I am a nice guy and simple don't care
for it.
2. No personal attacks. We have had countless flame
wars and hurt feelings at PSUBS. Experience has shown
that net results is a BIG negative to the livability
to the group. Even if you think you are right, take it
off line.
3. Keep topics on submersibles as this is not a
personal chat room. E-mail was invented to aid in
personal communications. Use it so the 100+ other
membersat PSUBS don't waste time deleting it.
4. Ask your questions. However the older guys are
tired of answering the same questions over and over
and tend not to respond. Dig through the archives and
ask when you need pointers. Keep in mind that PSUBS is
not a one stop source of information. We, I, expect
you to do your own home work. Spend the countless
hours reading, studying, experimenting, caculating,
and doing. You are the "personal" part of
"personal_submersibles". Your sub is your journey.
Your responsiblity.
Regards,
Ray the Landlord
