Thats interesting.

The automobile is also used for smuggling, not to mention kidnapping, 
robbery, bombing, murder..... and you never hear of anyone talk of banning 
them?

Although, automobiles are regulated, which gives the government its cut of 
the profits from both criminals and law abiding citizens. So its like the 
citizens are taxed to balance out what the criminals don't pay. Win-win for 
the government.

We know that when the psub is profitable, it is regulated, taxes are owed, 
like tourist subs.

So it seems that bean counters don't want to ban, they want to regulate, 
this maintains cash flow. Ethics and what not are not really in the equation 
until special interest kicks in.

Psubs are regulated by ignorance. Like ignorant park rangers who don't have 
a clue how a sub works and since they think they now more about anything and 
everything then you do, there is no way you (a stupid taxpayer) could 
possibly operate, let alone have built, your own sub.

I have been encouraged by other sub builders to keep quiet about my personal 
interest in subs since you may be ridiculed and labeled crazy. This is 
probably the only advice I've gotten that I have done the complete opposite. 
The initial head scratching done by my initially ignorant family, friends, 
relatives and neighbors has evolved into their having a greater 
understanding of applied engineering and a boost in their general interest 
of doing something cool with what school taught them.

It is our joy and responsibility to present psubs to the world and encourage 
discussion.
