A full size static replica of the Hunley has been built for
demostration purposes and display at Hunley exibits.
I do not know if the replica is exact or not in all respects. You
might want to go ahead and contact the museum.
Couldn't hurt.

This is an interesting question. Does anyone know whether the
curators of the boat have had the design recreated? If no one
knows, I can contact the museum as a grad student in history
and maybe get a little bit of an edge in asking questions.
