I have that issue, too.  I was kinda disappointed at the time.
Oh, well.  My father would have found some way to stop me.
Look at Hikino (Busby) for the basic idea in low-tech. One
result for me of that article is to wonder how to calculate
how may pentagonal pieces pf plexiglass (say that five times
quickly) of what size would be needed to produce a sphere
of a given size.  Still haven't figured that out.
