Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] UPS Submersible
I don't care about proof, but I'd love to see the pictures of the K350s.
I like the K boats, I think building one would be a great learn experience.
I also think that the K boats design can be updated without building a
new sub (like adding vertical and horizontal bow and stern thrusters,
longer battery pods, loose the side thrusters, add diesel generator,
longer pressure hull, get 6:1 length to diameter ratio, sleeker fairings,
6 degrees of freedom manipulator arm, etc.).
So much goes on here I don't remember the UPS sub, but I'm interested
in hearing more about it. (I tried searching the psubs archives, but I
kept getting an "Internal error" message).

Subject: Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] UPS Submersible
Since it seems like the water has all of a sudden become very shallow, I thought it might be a good time to bring up some thing that has bothered me. Many members have voiced opinions on several subjects that are short and very much to the point. So I just thought it might be a good time to point out one of my thoughts. About a year and a half ago there was a significant ambition on this site to design the Ultimate Personal Submersible. The UPS of the sea. There are so many very talented and extremely intelligent people in this forum that I thought it was going to happen. I had no Internet service for a while and when I got back the project seemed to have sunk. What happened, could some one fill in the blanks? And since Ive donned my Kevlar vest and life jacket this after noon I would like to say that if there are no significant legal issues in pursuing the UPS. Why cant that project be brought back to the surface? I mean, come on guys and lady, if youre watching!
, the
350 K is some old technology and really isnt that cool. I mean for Christ sake guys, Mr. K tried selling a sailing kit so his subs could be used in the farmers pond next door. Ill stop right there because this Kevlar vest is heavy and I havent taken the time to calculate the reserve buoyancy of the life vest, but I personally know of two or three of the K subs that are used to hold up mailboxes within ten minuets from me. Ill send pictures if you need proof.
