Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Bedtime stories

William,
Thanks for the links to the annealing procedures, the second link did not work for me however. I've decided to explore a different design for my main viewport. This would replace my acrylic dome. I like the dome, but they are very expensive especially at 1.5" thick! The other concern I have about the dome is that it could be vunerable to impacts and the prospect of having another saftey dome over it just seems more difficult to deal with. So what I'm thinking about doing is cutting out a large doughnut out of a piece of 3" thick acrylic and using it like a giant gasket sandwiched between two rings. This will limit my visibility of course, but I will also have another viewport that will serve as "close up" inspection port, aft. I've posted a drawing on the moki exchange. http://www.prismnet.com/~moki/20040309.103505/hatchXdrawing.jpg
The ring would be cut using a band saw and then I will sand and polish the inside and outside surfaces.

Brian
